Zaida Rico awarded 2020 John R. Freeman FLPRITE District Transportation Professional of the Year

In November 2020, one of our associates, engineer Zaida Rico, PhD, PE, received from the ITE the John R. Freeman FLPRITE District Transportation Professional of the Year Award.

The FLPRITE District Transportation Professional of the Year Award was established in 1999 to recognize, on a non-annual basis, outstanding contributions by an individual to the FLPRITE District and to the transportation profession. The recipient of this award must be a private sector employee, a FLPRITE member, and must have demonstrated advancements in the transportation profession through leadership, administration, practical applications of engineering techniques or principles, training, or research and development.

In 2020, the FLPRITE Board voted to dedicate this award to a private sector FLPRITE District member recipient and with the new District name: "Florida Puerto Rico District".
